I woke up this morning and like most days went straight to my cell phone for my morning emails, texts etc.  But today I was looking for something more, my closest and dearest friend Cheryl Rybak was sitting at Cardinal Glennon hospital waiting while her 9 year old son, Kyle Rybak has open heart surgery.  This morning is not a NORMAL day for this family.   They had to be at the hospital at 5am and surgery began at around 7am.   They were told that he would be done around 1pm.   6 hours of sitting and waiting.   My heart is heavy for what this family is going through today, this has hit home for me.  Not only is Cheryl my closest friend, but Kyle and Danny are really close as well.  they play basketball on the same team and love to hang out.   We feel like they are a part of our family, they are a part of my everyday life.   I talk to and or see Cheryl almost everyday of the week and most of the time more than I see or talk to my own family.   I guess the reason for my post is as you begin the hustle and bustle of your normal crazy day, STOP, say a prayer for all those who need it, and Thank GOD for all you have and the health of you and your family.  I know all day today I have been thanking the good LORD for all I have and asking him to take care of those who are in need of him today and everyday.

I am happy to report that as of 1:00pm Kyle is out of Surgery, off the bypass machine and moving to PICU.  He is still on a ventilator and hoping to get him off this by the end of the day.  I'm rooting for you Kyle!   I know you will come out of this stronger than ever.  Love you guys!

It's only been 3 years :0

Wow! How time does fly! I decided to start blogging again after reading a couple funny ones over the last few days and I did not realize it had been almost 3 years. It really doesn't seem that long since I'm still scrap booking that darn trip, oh I hope to get it finished soon.

Well in 3 years A LOT has happened, but the short of it is that Emily is in 3rd grade at Emge and loving her new friends. She plays soccer for Lou Fusz Soccer Club and Basketball for St. Joe's. Danny is in Th grade at Emge and having a blast with his new friends . He plays basketball for the high school feeder team Jr. Bulldogs. Bailey she is in Th grade and final year at Lewis & Clark. She hangs out with her BFF Haley and can not fathom they will be separated next year in middle school. She is playing soccer for Norco soccer club, and Volleyball for the Renaud Center.

Now lets see what's next.........................................................

It's been awhile :0

Wow! we have not blogged since our Disney trip. I guess face book has kind of taken that spot. We had a great summer and have started our new school year. Bailey is now a 3rd grader and has moved to Lewis & Clark Elem., Danny is the big kid on the block at St. Peters Elem in 2nd grade, Emily well she is now a full day student at St. Peters also in 1st grade. So far they are loving the teaches. Danny has started the 3 week of school at home with pneumonia. which really stinks but he is at the start of recovery phase. Bailey had a GREAT birthday. Hard to believe that she is a big 9 year old this year. We spent the weekend of her birthday with some friends from soccer at their lake house. Tons of fun.

Day 2- Epcot- Jeanne's post

Well our morning started with Danny up at 5:30am crying that his throat hurt him, he could not breath, and burning up with a fever. I call the front desk to find out our doctor options. Well you see there is this awesome company that will pick us up at our hotel, take us the the urgent care, order our prescription, drop us back at the hotel and then deliver our med's all for a low fee of $5.

PERFECT cause we have no car! Danny and I head down at 8am (that is what time it starts) Shuttle picks us up, we get to urgent care. THEY DON'T TAKE INSURANCE! Okay what are my options???? NOTHING, okay starting price of the visit $295. SEE US. He now has a 104. fever.
Test for strep, negative. It's croup. They give him a dose of steroids. Oh yeah, when we arrived I was going to be seen also cause I have been coughing my head off all night (but not at this price). Now I am also burning up with fever. At this point our bill is almost $400.00.
Prescriptions :) So the company doing the med's, they do not take insurance either. My question where is Walgreen's?? 2 blocks down the road. Will you fax the order over so that when we get there it will be ready?? NO- we don't do that. Danny and I and our fevers head to Walgreen's. Upon arrival I ask the guy for the pharmacy phone number cause I am going to get some med's for my (what I feel like is bronchitis). Call the doctor and he called in a script.
I arrive at the drop off window and the pharmacist informs me he is the ONLY one working today please come back in 2 hours. WHAT? I am at a hotel I can't come back, so we wait. In the mean time we purchase Tylenol (child and adult), Motrin (child and adult), a thermometer and we wait. YEAH we are ready! it is now 12:30 PM. We walk 2 blocks back to the urgent care and head back to the hotel. FEVERS ARE 102.8 for Danny and 103.5 for me. NAPS! We break our fevers and head to grab food (we have not eaten yet today). We head to meet Dan, Bailey and Emily at Epcot. It is now 4:00 so we were limited but checked out the Test Track (very cool), Nemo & Friends (kids did not like), Mission Space (VERY COOL), Space Ship Earth (I liked, Danny said it was just OKAY). That was about all we had time for so we headed back to the room for a good nights sleep.
Tomorrow will be a much better day!!!!!!

Day 1- Travel Day - Jeanne's Post

Friday, February 20, 2009

The morning started REALLY early. Flight left at 7:45 am, so up and at em at 5:00 am. Flight was quick, we arrived at the hotel caught some lunch and headed to Hollywood Studios. We started at the Star Wars, caught the ending of the block party (looked like it was a lot of fun) then checked out the Indiana Jones stunt show. Journey into Narnia was very disappointing for all of us, we did not have time to make it to Tower of Terror but we have plans to head back for to hit a couple of these.
We finished the day with Danny running a fever, we have no idea how high but he is not feeling himself. We are hoping for a goodnight sleep for all and hit a new park tomorrow on top of our game.

Excitement all around!

We have been very busy in the Bloomfield house. With the new puppy from Christmas, back at indoor for Bailey playing on 2 teams, Danny giving basketball a try and Emily trying her foot at a little indoor! We are gearing up to head out and see Mickey Mouse! Wow what fun that is going to be. The kids just can not wait! I can't wait to see the faces on them once they see what all this trip entails.
We had a fun filled weekend of sports. Bailey was in a tournament in Columbia, IL 5 games total for the weekend. We did not do as well as they had been but it was good to see some new competition. Emily had a great game on Saturday. They brought home a winner with Emily scoring 3 of the goals. Hope she keeps that passion. Danny played AWESOME in his basketball game. Scoring his first basket and an assist!!! Love to see him into something he loves again!
Jake is getting so big! I need to get him back to the vet, but wow. I just love that little guy. He is pretty much my dog. I feed him, walk him, take him out most of the time to bathroom, most of all, him and i curl up on the couch together and snuggle! I will try and get some pictures posted soon.
Check back this time next week and read what they have to say! We will be blogging so for the class time missed!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hope Your Christmas was as wonderful as it was for our house! Good food, family and friends. My Children were SURPRISED by Grandma and Grandpa Drezek with a new member to our family. They got a 9 week old Shih-Poo (shih tzu poodle mix). He is white with a brown mask and a touch of black mixed in. Very sweet pup that LOVES to be held. Good thing too cause my kids want to HOLD HIM ALL THE TIME. We have to set the timer to take turns. It will wear off soon I am sure, then I will be doing all the work!!!!!

2008 Christmas will be one to remember for my Kiddo's!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our Family and Friends.

An update for Faye is that she had a blood transfusion on Sat the 13th. She had been doing great and her counts were down to 13 or 14. She took a turn on Mon or Tues and her counts are back up to 22 again. I think they are checking to see where the infection in again. Will update as we find out more!!

Faye Update at 3:11 PM Friday

Well there is NO staph infection which is very good. Her white counts did not move over night, which is good in the sense they did not go up. She has C diffiicile colitis, which is VERY contagious. If you visit you have to wear a gown and gloves and you can not touch her with an unprotected area of your body. At this point they are giving her 3 different Antibiotics to see if she can fight it. One complication could be that her colon is inflamed and could perforate, which at that point she becomes septic. Once you have this you are very susceptible to it coming back.

I will update as more becomes available.

About Faye (Dan's Mom)

Well there is lots going on in our lives but the biggest is Dan's Mom.......................................
She was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with a stomach bug, severe dehydration, and mini strokes..............boy what a change 2 days makes.......................

They did a c-scan on her abdomen and pelvis today (Thurs) and also thought she had a staph infection.
Turns out her colon is infected and severely swollen. They are trying an antibiotic but does not look promising (she has been on antibiotics since Tues). They are going to take her blood counts in the morning but if they continue to rise like they have been there are 2 choices:
1st is leave it and continue to treat with antibiotics, if continues on the same path that would mean she will become septic and probably not make it through a week.
2nd is surgery…. This is very complicated due to her health. If she can make it though it she would most likely be in ICU for weeks to months given her health. Do to the fact she is on steroids for her breathing (it makes it harder and longer for healing process) that will make the healing process even worse. Also, she will most likely be put on a ventilator and then have to be weaned off (which would also be a long hard process for her). Not to mention that after all of this her life expectancy would only be 6mos to a year at best. In the surgery they would remove her colon; she will have a bag and run lots of risks of dehydration and infections.
Dan and Jim were with her tonight and she does not want surgery. The family does not want her to go through all of that.
Everyone agrees that she will not have the surgery.
We will know Friday about the blood counts so it is now just a waiting game.

The family is just praying that the Good Lord does what ever his will is but with out a lot of pain and suffering.
I will keep you posted.

Great Thanksgiving weekend!

What a great weekend it was....
We started Wednesday with the day off work and school (well the kids and i did, Dan had to work Wed) I watched 5 great kids that day and enjoyed it a lot. Wednesday night Bailey had her first Thanksgiving Tournament game. They won some crazy number (the boards stopped counting) and some of our team friends came back to the house for pizza and good company.

Thursday was a great day............. Relaxing morning, followed by a great meal at Mom and Dad's, followed by online shopping with my soon to be sister in law.

Friday started just a few hours after that at 3:45 am. UP AND AT EM to Wal mart, Target, and then Toys R Us. Great deals. but still more to go.
Had to leave the shopping scene to watch Bailey's 2nd game in the tournament. They won that game some crazy number also. I got to catch a great nap then we took Danny and Emily to see "Bolt" and then went to watch the older Bino's teams.

Saturday was a crazy early game. 7am- WOW but they won again (some crazy number) and we are now off to the FINALS.
Saturday was a great lazy day. We went to breakfast after the game, took a nap and watched movies. Love these kind of weekends.

Today we have Bailey's game at 6pm and some running i need to do but other than that just enjoying our 1st snow fall of the season!!!!!!

Hope your Thanksgiving weekend was as enjoyable as ours was.

You know you are getting old when...............

Well after a night of friends stopping by to check out the TUBS of scrapbooking stuff that Lesa brought over. Major Craziness began on Saturday morning at 9 am.
Off to get 3 birthday gifts then games galore!!
So 1st Birthday party was Saturday morning, followed by and overlap of Emilys game which she scored 2 goals. Then jump in the car to pick up Carly and head to Bailey's game, which they won 3-1 with Carly scoring the game winning goal (they were tied 1-1 most of the game, up till the very end). Followed by a RUN AND JUMP to the car for Danny's game which they won and Danny made an assist in that game! We then RAN to get everyone packed up. Bailey had a sleepover Birthday party, and Danny and Emily had a night at Grandma and Grandpa's. WHOO HOO mom and dad get a night out! (yeah only wish it was that exciting)
We were so tired from all the running of the day that we went to dinner and home on the couch to watch a show that we did not even make it though all the way without falling asleep!!!! We are sad!
Anyway, we finished the weekend with Bailey having another game and all 3 kids having a birthday party they went to at Pump It Up.
Boy are we tired and going to bed early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy weekend!!

Well for me the weekend always starts on Thursday. See in my job I work M-TH then have Fri - Sun off each week. This past week was a different week for us. We started Monday morning at 2 am. Danny woke me up telling me he threw up in his bed, well needless to say I flew out of bed, got him to the bathroom and cleaned up the mess in the room. After settling him on the couch with towels surrounding him and a trash can next to his side, I struggled to fall back to sleep. I found an episode of Desperate House Wives on a rerun, and fell back to sleep.

Well that explains how Monday was going to be!!! Actually, it was a very relaxing peaceful day just Danny and I. He laid around, played his wii, laid around, then SKIPPED to the bus stop to get his sister off the bus.

Back to School and Work for Tuesday, but oh rain, so OH darn NO SOCCER PRACTICE! oops did I sound excited about that?

Wednesday was a normal running day for us!

NOW THURSDAY IS WHEN ALL THE FUN BEGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I start my morning the way I always do, up at 7 am and straight to the shower. When I got out of the shower my home and cell phone were going NUTS. I answer my home phone to Cheryl asking me if I had heard all the craziness that was going on . Answering NO due to the fact I was still DRIPPING wet, she goes on to tell me about the "killer" lose in O'Fallon MO. Long story short, they caught him but not without much concern by my mom, my husband, the parents of the preschool, and many others who were in the area at the time!!!
To end my day we went to the rehearsal dinner for my nephew Michael who married my new niece Molly (but we will get there soon)

Friday was a day of helping Bailey's teacher with a project (which I really enjoyed), having lunch with my kids at school then home to clean and await the arrival of the 6 kids who joined us for "Kids night out".

Saturday started at 7:45 am with my feet hitting the floor and not stopping till 1:30 am. Started with shopping for birthday presents for parties we had this weekend, on to Soccer for Bailey, then Emily, then Danny, finishing up that part of our day picking Emily up from her friends party and home to shower for the wedding. After getting everyone showered, dressed and out the door within a hour and 15 min off to the ZOO it was for Michael and Molly's reception (did you notice I didn't even get to go to the wedding cause of all the craziness?) What a great place for a wedding reception............. BEAUTIFUL SETTING, BEAUTIFUL BRIDE, HANSOM GROOM, AND A FUN GROUP OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY. A perfect party!!!!!

Sunday (today) the girls did not even get out of bed till 10:30am. They were wiped out from all the dancing!! Danny just put chairs together Sat night when he got tired..........
We headed to a birthday party for the kids friend Alex (it was lazier tag) Kids had a blast. Dan golfed in a tournament all day today. Lucky dog is off work tomorrow.

Off to bed tonight.......................and ready to start all over again this week!!!! Hope your weekend was less craziness but still fun!!

Some say crazy, some say insane, I prefer ADVENTUROUS!!

Bailey with her friend Jenna, Danny with his friend Garrick, Emily with her friend Taylor and JUST ME all packed up Saturday morning and went to Rombach's Pumpkin Patch. We had a beautiful morning and a lot of fun!

Over a month now

Boy just when I get into the swing of blogging i slip again!! (sounds like my dieting or lack of).

Life has been FULL of excitement the last few weeks.
Let see where to begin....................
Kids are enjoying school this year, Emily loves her teacher. She sings a lot in class, shows the kids sign language for many things she says, and is just an all around great teacher and fun for the kids.
I know Danny is loving school and his teacher, Dan asked him to skip 3 days of school to go to the lake and golf with him last week and Danny told him that he did not want to miss school.
Bailey, well let see she really likes school, loves her teacher but would still miss in a heart beat! she has her first (and second) crush on 2 different boys!!!! One is in her class and the other has been a family friend for about 6 years now! WOW i am getting really scared!

The kids have kicked off the soccer season, and are doing great!!! Emily loves soccer.... asks all the time "how many games this weekend?" She is a great goal scorer and will fall back to play defence when needed! I hope the love of the game continues for her.

Danny is still trying to convince us that he hates soccer but I tell you a kid the scores and plays the way he does I think it is more that he wants to be playing Wii instead!!!

Bailey is loving the game as usual. She is playing on a select team this year that Pat and Dan are coaching together. Bailey has made some new friends on this team and really enjoys it.

Dan is coaching Emily's team, assistant coaching Bailey's team with Pat and loving watching Danny play. I love seeing Dan so involved with the kids sports, but most of all the kids love it.

Dan just switched jobs..... actually started today. He went back to First National where he worked before Associated. He loved it at FNB so I look forward to him being happy again!!!!

As for me......... Lets see, I am working back at preschool again but different position (Science and Art Teacher) I am loving that so much. I am the Team Manager for Bailey's soccer club (Bino's) Loving that too. Scrap booking a couple times a month (that goes without saying that I love it) And just watching the kids play soccer and helping with homework and enjoying every moment.

WOW HOW TIME JUST FLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will try to keep it under a month!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Bailey!! Big 8 year old!!

Today my baby turned 8. I can still remember walking into the hospital on Sunday night at about 8 PM afraid they were going to send me home (they did the night before) and worried about becoming a Mom ( I get tears just thinking back on it). Now I'm an old pro, 3 kids later, I got it!

So the BIG day really was that- A HUGE DAY for her. Dan decided that he was going to take her out 1/2 day today to do something fun. Well at least that was the original plan. 1/2 day??? shoot the girl only went to school for an hour! He picked her up at 10:15, they went to the ARCH, went on the tour and up in the arch, went on a helicopter ride, then off to the zoo they went. They got home at 6:30 PM, we down loaded the camera to see the fun pictures and off to dinner we went. She picked ETHYL's, the kids like to play on the outdoor playground. Grandma and Grandpa Drezek joined us for the fun.

She was so excited last nigh she could not go to sleep, it was 11 PM before her little body finally shut down. And jumped out of bed at the first sound made in the house! Tonight, well that was a totally different story!! She couldn't keep her poor eyes open after that day with Dad.

I am so glad she got to do that! She kept telling her dad "this is my best birthday EVER". Oh yeah, we forgot the presents: ipod shuffle, digital camera, 2 pairs of PJ's, ipod docking station, ear rings and 2 new webkinz. That was just from Dad, Mom, Emily and Danny! Grandma and Grandpa gave her CASH!!!!

OH MY FORGOT! When they were at the ZOO, they went to the sea lion show and the man picked her as his helper to feed them and do tricks with them. I am posting some pictures of her helping, her in the arch, her helicopter ride and some of her other fav's

Getting READY FOR THE BIG DAY!!!

We shopped for our "First Day Outfits" , bought TONS of lunch items, took showers, had ice cream for snack, in bed by 8:30pm. The girls could not settle down. I had to tell them they would loose privileges if they did not go to sleep and stop giggling (but inside I remembered the night before the first day excitement and jitters) I would stay awake most of the night, but finally about 10pm they had calmed enough to fall asleep.

Danny on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with the shopping if it would not include him getting Pokemon cards at the store. I did get him a new outfit (and I was excited that he liked it). He got right into bed and when I made it into him to kiss and hug goodnight he had already started to fall asleep, I whispered "are you sleeping" his reply"I cant fall asleep with out a kiss from you"

Man, they make you so glad you are a Mom!!!!!
Wish me luck on putting all three on the bus tomorrow, big blubbering idiot I will be!!!!!!

Kindergarten Orientation

Thursday morning there we were up and ready to go meet the teacher for Emily. Cheryl called and asked for Danny and Bailey to come over and play with the kids so she could get some stuff done (Bailey just takes care of Kennedy like she has been babysitting for years). Emily was upset at first that she wanted them to go with her ( I think she was wanting the comfort of her big sis and brother with her to help her out). After I explained to her that she would have me all to herself she quickly changed her attitude.

So she is now very excited, she got to ride the bus home to "Practice" and she is ready to go to Kindergarten.

I DON'T CARE HOW TUFF I ACT, THIS MOMMA'S GONNA BE CRYING HER EYES OUT AT 8:30 AM MONDAY MORNING!!!!!
